About
New York photographer Steve Pool has a broad range of photography interests—culture, still life, portraits, travel, and food. He has photographed a number of cookbooks including Welcome to Michael’s, Dining at Delmonico’s, Jacques Torres’ A Year in Chocolate, JOE, The Art of Coffee, and An American Family Cooks. He often works with his wife, cookbook author Judith Choate, on their own projects as well as photographing and styling the food of chefs and culinary personalities. He has had exhibits of his work covering the spectacular and moving Day of the Dead celebration in Oaxaca City, Mexico. He has returned there many times in an attempt to understand how such depth of poverty in material goods has translated into such an abundance of spiritual joy.
Prints Available
Any of the prints on this site as well as almost any in my personal portfolio are for sale in very limited editions. They are custom printed, individually sized, numbered and signed. Each photograph will be a unique copy for the owner. They can be purchased unframed or framed. Every photograph can stand alone or in a group with each one relating a special moment behind the lens.
